High Expectations?!?!

So Carter, being the sweetheart that he is, put together and sent a package for me for my graduation. I am always thrilled with anything he ever sends because I think it is so sweet of him to think of me and spend his survival money to make sure I have nice things from him on special occasions. It was so perfect that I actually received it the DAY of my graduation. I opened the package and inside was a poncho that had been knitted by a woman he knew in Africa where he is serving. Even though I've actually never considered wearing a poncho, I was ecstatic to have this one that meant so much to me because it was from Carter and I'm sure he paid the lady a good amount of money to have her make it. I wanted him to know how appreciative I was that he had taken the effort to make and send it to me, so I tried to doll it up and make it look like I would actually consider wearing it in public, (not because it isn't nice, it is, just because, I guess poncho's just really aren't my style.) I put on some red heels that matched it and practiced some poses in the mirror for a few minutes to make it look like poncho wearing is as natural as can be. Then I made my sister take a few snap shots of me to send to him. He received the pictures and told me how glad he was that I had received it and how it looked so nice on me!
WELL........I just found out that the day he received the pictures, he wrote his mom saying this: "Okay I am laughing my head off right now! Please don't tell Jord, but that poncho was actually supposed to be a SKIRT! But she is wearing it as a poncho! The lady must have made it way too small."

Let me tell you all something........I couldn't even fit one leg into that "SKIRT" if I wanted to. He must have some dang high expectations. Can I add "drop 18 dress sizes" to my list of things to do before Carter gets home? Cause I think I just did!

Itinerary = What the heck just happened?

Carter's mom recieved his itinerary today! We now have his exact date and time he we be stepping off the airplane. December 17th at 7:16pm. WAHOOO!!! High fives all around!! I honestly thought the day would NEVER come! But what do you know? It's here and I'm thinking to myself, "Gosh Jord, what the heck have you been doing these past 2 years?" I am starting to feel just a LITTLE bit overwhelmed with things I need to do before he gets home. Gall, how is it that I've been counting down the EVERY second he's been away, wishing the time would go by faster, now all of a sudden I feel like I just got slapped in the face with the reality that, HELLO, I HAVE A LOT TO DO!! It's like it crept up on me, but I have no idea how it happened.

To Do List Before Carter Comes Home:
1. Pass Boards
2. Make Mission Scrap Book (If anyone feels so inclined to help, feel free! Don't worry, I've done I think 3 pages these past 2 years. I'm not sure what happened.)
3. Mature
4. Get Life Organized
5. Loose 10 Pounds
6. Clean Out Car (No matter what, this stupid task is always weighing on me like a ton of bricks. I'd be willing to pay someone some serious bucks to clean out my car for me. And I'd even give a great tip if you topped it off with a Scentsy air freshener, so I feel like I am really accomplished.)
7. Come Up With The Best Welcome Home Gift This World Has Ever Seen. (As if this wasn't a big enough task in itself, don't forget that I will also have to turn around the next week and have an AWESOME Christmas present wrapped and ready to give for the first Christmas home.)

Idea's or input HIGHLY appreciated!!! Thanks!

Freezing Football Games!

Yesterday I had the joy of going and sitting at my brother Raysh’s West Haven Play off football game in South Ogden. He is 11 years old, but if you didn’t know that, you’d think his little team was at least a high school level by the way they get SO pumped up with each play! It was raining the entire game and FREEZING cold but, they are so fun to watch because they love it so much! They have only lost 1 game this season. Today they played the undefeated South Ogden team. It was a great game but of course, West Haven Grizzlies took care of business! The final score was 21 to 0. Good job Raysher! You rock!!

We Love #40!!!
Freezing or not, sunshine or snow storm, we're all there, EVERY week!

Mason and Melissa. Mas knows how to do it right!
Do you think that one FREEZING cold, raining game is enough for one day? NO, we left South Ogden and headed straight for Ephraim where we sat through the Snow College vs. New Mexico College football game. My family’s good friend Brandon Bennett is playing for the New Mexico Broncos and this was his closest game to us, so you know……..we couldn’t miss it! I make it sound like I don’t like it, really I do! I just don’t love it when it’s snowing and blowing ice cold air in my face. It was a good game though and Brandon kicked butt!!! We love the Bennett’s! My cute friend Lacey Bennett (Brandon’s sister) just got engaged!! I’m excited for her and wish them both the best!
Go Bennett!!

I Am So Blessed!!

It's official folks!! I am a college graduate!! I thought the day would never come, but it has!! Today was my graduation! I passed my last exit exam this morning, and graduated tonight! As I sit back and think about what a nice day I had today, I need to take a minute and thank everyone who has helped me get to this point in my life. I have been so so so blessed all my life to have great examples and people who guide me in the right direction! I know the Lord has given me a lot of good people in my life that have helped me accomplish some of my life goals. #1 is my parents!! Both of them believed in me when the rest of the world had me doubting myself! They have NEVER once been anything but my 100% support team, my personal cheerleaders! I honestly would have never made it through nursing school without their positive encouragement! Thank you so much Mom and Dad! I love you both more than you know! #2 is my friends and what I like to refer to as my 2nd family! I am so lucky to have the best friends in the whole wide world! Everyone needs friends like mine! Carter sent me the sweetest graduation package and I got it today as well! How perfect! He is always so thoughtful and making sure I know he is thinking about me even though he can't be right here with me! I am so blessed! To everyone who came tonight, Thank you so much! And to everyone else who has had an influence on my life in some way, big or small, Thank you as well! I am so blessed!!
