Wake Me Up When September Ends!!!

This past week has been by far the most trying week I have had in a long time. I am so happy that I made it through alive! Being the last week of nursing school, you would think a person would be thrilled to death. The key words here are you would think. You would also think that teachers would want their students to complete a program feeling relieved and accomplished. Again, the key words here are YOU WOULD THINK!!! Gosh, I have had more tests and finals this week than I have had the entire program. I just want to scream. If I had any confidence before, I have felt it slowly melting away as I have taken and retaken many exams finals this week. Correct me if I am wrong, but I find this completely unnecessary. Maybe 1 final exit exam, but 3!!?!?!???! Come on!! Let's get serious!! Wake me up....when September ends!

Jordan's Quirks:

1. I love lemons!! Anyone who has ever eaten out with me can tell you I ALWAYS order water with EXTRA lemons. Then once the water is all gone, I find it refreshing to eat the lemon plain. My Uncle Lance lives in Mesa Arizona and when we were younger, we would sit outside in the blazing heat, pick lemons off his lemon tree, peel them like oranges and eat them. It seemed to somehow give us an escape from the heat while we would give ourselves chills eating plain old lemons. I have heard that eating lemons raw can eat the enamel off your teeth, but so far, that hasn't stopped me.

2. I am a total list freak! Have you ever met someone who makes lists including things they have already done just so they can cross something off and feel accomplished? Sadly, that is me! I know, it's pathetic, and I can't stand myself for it, but as much as I'd like to deny it, I can't! I seem to find myself at 3 in the afternoon creating a list and putting "Brush your teeth" on it, just so I can feel like I have done something that day. I go through post-it notes like you wouldn't believe making list after list of things I need to get done that day, week, or even hour. It's a miserable habit!!

3. I am a delegator. My brothers and sisters will all agree! My family calls it bossy (they actually call me Bossy Cow), but in my defense I would say it's more of a delegation mindset that I was blessed with! HA HA!! Give me a break; I am the oldest of 5 kids. If I wasn't the delegator, who the heck would be? Younger siblings don't give orders to the older sibling. It's in my blood to take charge........I can't help it!! It's just unfortunate that it carries with me even outside of my home and family life.

4. I have a HUGE sweet tooth!! This quirk, I must say, is very much to my disadvantage. I can't eat a meal or even just a small snack without ending on a sweet note. I just can't! I feel totally gypped if I don't get a dessert or a candy bar at the end of an ingestion session. I have also learned the hard way that the more I try to train my body not to need treats and sweets, the more it fights against me. I just had to come to terms with the fact that I need sweet things; there is nothing I can do about it.

5. I can't live without music! I honestly have no idea how anyone could? I am always being mocked and screamed at for having my music on too often or too loud! To me listening to the radio or iTunes is just as vital as the air I breath. Sometimes it gets so bad to the point where I want to tell someone to Zip It if they try to converse with me during a GOOD song while we're driving in the car. Just kidding...........but for reals! I find it relaxing to sing at the top of my lungs to any song I know the words to, even though it sounds horrible! It just gives me that little lift I need to get through the day. The more, the better! And I can never get enough!! Please don't stop the music is one of my many theme songs.

6. I am a day dreamer! I find myself envisioning different things on a constant basis. Whether it's wishing I were on a vacation or picturing life in 5 years. Sometimes I feel like I spend more time in my dreams than actually in reality. But I just think that eventually my dreams will be my reality. How would anyone ever get where they really wanted to go in life if they didn't dream? I love the song Dream Big by Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band. Dreaming is that little necessary vacation I need from life sometimes.
There's a little more about me! :)
